Basic controls’ Heat Meter for measuring heat & cooling energy are developed on the basis of years of experience with ultrasonic technology. Our heat meter adopts imported ultrasonic transducer and temperature sensor with high quality which ensures the high accuracy (lever 2) and good stability. Compared with other types of heat meter, the ultrasonic heat meter has no moving part which means low maintenance cost. The disposable lithium battery for power supply can work for more than 6 years. Furthermore, our heat meter also has an order option for remote read-out (pulse, M-Bus). With a protocol converter, Basic controls’ heat meter can also communicate with Modbus, Bacnet, LonWorks directly.

    Basic Controls’ ultrasonic heat meter (also known as BTU meter, energy meter or cooling meter) use the imported high quality ultrasonic transducer and advanced electronic measurement technology to ensure the meter's high accuracy and stability. Compared with mechanical meter (radial impeller type), ultrasonic heat meter has no moving parts to worn out with low maintenance cost. Besides, ultrasonic heat meter gets higher precision and stability than mechanical meter.
    UHM(ultrasonic heat meter) also has a automatic diagnostic function. There will be an error code displayed on the LCD to indicate the abnormal condition to ensure the meter work in a good state.

    The ultrasonic flow sensor of Basic Controls’ ultrasonic heat meter (also known as BTU meter, energy meter or cooling meter) has patent product structure and U acoustic path, which makes a wider dynamic flow-rate measurement range and overcomes the shortcomings of other ultrasonic measurement designs of narrow measurement range and inaccurate measurement of low flow-rate. So it's available to central air conditioning and heating system with widely changeable measurement range.

    The ultrasonic heat meter, which has had the flow-meter and the calculator integrated in a whole, has features of compact structure and convenient installation. The meter adopts high quality piezoelectric ceramic transducer, which ensures the meter’s high precision and stability. 230 series integrated ultrasonic heat meter aims at measuring with users’ heat and Central Air-conditioning use. The meter without any moving parts has a long life and low power-consumption design with a non-rechargeable lithium battery with the working life 6-10 years. Shortcomings of life and performance of mechanical cooling/heat meters have been made up owing to these characteristics above.

    DESCRIPTION
    The complete type (230 series) of Basic Controls’ heat meter uses transit-time ultrasonic flow measurement principle to measure the flow rate: opposite sending and receiving transducers send ultrasonic signals alternately with and against the flow direction. The flow rate can be exactly calculated from the difference between the two transit times. There is no moving part in the sensor. Thus, the measurement is wear-free and stable over a very long time period.
    Our meter also has an order option for remote read-out (pulse, M-Bus). The large display can be set to display heat consumption, temperatures, flow total, working time or velocity.
